Another Southerner (from Birmingham, Alabama) Easley was a computer scientist, mathematician, and rocket scientist who worked for NASA and its predecessor agency, the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics’s Lewis Research Center and helped develop software for the Centaur rocket stage.
