We all got a bit hyped when Marvel/ Netflix announced that Luke Cage was coming to streaming TV. For us hip-hop fans we got even more hyped when we found out that Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad (of A Tribe Called Quest) were being brought in to score the soundtrack.

Add to that after fans found out that each episode of the series would be named after a Gang Starr song, it began to feel a bit like Sweet Christmas. 🙂

Fleshing out this continued melding of the worlds of comics and hip hop, Marvel/ Netflix have released a featurette titled Luke Cage: Street Level Hero Music. Check out the video below for more insight into how its all coming together for a truly head nodding musical experience.

Luke Cage drops on 9/30 on Netflix.
