It doesn’t get anymore deeper than the title suggests. We love #blackhistorymonth here at BlackSci-Fi.com. So for the month of February, I’m going to focus on scenes of black folks kicking all the a#! in your favorite sci-fi/ fantasy/ action tv, web, and film series.

5. Anissa Pierce- Thunder vs. Every Bad Guy In Freeland/ Black Lightning

Here at BlackSci-Fi.com, we are big fans of Black Lightning. Check out all of our reviews here. One of the best parts of the series is Nafessa Williams‘ portrayal of the hero, Anissa Pierce/ Thunder. Williams plays the role of the medical school student/ teacher/ community organizer turned superhero, while using her abilities to right the wrongs of Freeland, kicking butt on every episode.

As explained on Wikipedia, “Thunder has the ability to increase her body’s mass while preserving volume, which effectively increases her density. In this state she is near-immovable, almost completely invulnerable”. Check out this montage of Thunder kicking butt in celebration of Black History Month.
