FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
October 14, 2020
Atlanta, GA – Godhood Comics, a black-owned and independent comic book publisher based in
Atlanta, is excited to announce the new on-going series, The Antagonists. The first series under
Godhood’s new Blackout imprint, an imprint set in the same universe, but featuring more
graphic and adult content than Godhood’s other titles.

It’s been twenty years since the world has seen or heard from the infamous supervillains known
as Desructus and Ultima. After years of trying to take over the world, the duo finally won during
an attack on the U.S. Capitol. Their victory, however, was short-lived, as they mysteriously
vanished from the public eye. Wanted and pursued by the governments of the world the couple
retired and secretly settled down in the suburbs of Detroit.
The Antagonists centers on Calvin and Tonya Eval, formerly known as Desructus and Ultima.
Calvin and Tonya must keep their worst impulses in check while balancing married life, parental
responsibilities, being black in America, and hiding their past and former identities from their
superpowered children.

Series co-creator, Tyler Martin, says, “The book takes themes from some of your favorite
franchises and can be described as The Incredibles meets The Boys meets your favorite mafia
family movie. It’s brutal, bloody, and action-packed!”
The Antagonists was co-created by Tyler Martin, Felipe Dunbar, and Dawn Henderson. The
series is written by Martin and edited by Dunbar, with interior art by Roi Mercado, and planned
covers by Stephen Byrne, Oskar Alvarado, Courtland Ellis, and Giacomo Guida. The first 3
issues of The Antagonists will be funded via a Kickstarter campaign which will launch on
December 1, 2020. This will be Godhood’s fourth on-going series.
